If you’ve got oily skin, this is the post for you! I love makeup and admittedly wear it most days, so I’ve had plenty of time to find out which foundations work for me and my skin type. I’m also a lover of good value makeup. I have a few higher end make up products but the majority I buy from the high street (think drugstore for any Americans reading this). So here’s my top 5 foundations for oily skin!
Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless
The first appearance from Maybelline on this list! This foundation is specifically tailored for oily skin types and I absolutely love this product. For me it’s great for an everyday foundation as it’s a low-medium coverage. It wears really well, doesn’t crease, keeps you relatively matte and looks quite natural. I’m very fair and wear shade 115, for me the shade match is absolutely spot on.
Rimmel Wake Me Up
I don’t hear a lot about this foundation but I really like it. I’d like it more if I’d bought it in the correct shade….but anyway, I make it work! For an oily skin type this foundation definitely isn’t as mattifying as the others on this list, so I can’t wear this in any kind of hot weather or it would slide right off my face, but it’s great at giving you a bit of summer glow in the dead of winter. The coverage is about medium, so great for everyday use.
Revlon Colour Stay
Another foundation which comes in two different formulas, obviously I have the combination/oily one! This is definitely a bit of a classic, and it’s a classic for a reason. If I need good coverage and don’t want to think or put too much effort in, I know I can rely on this to look good all night.
MAC Studio Fix
The only powder foundation I’ve tried that really gives proper coverage. This is perfect for a quick and easy makeup look, it’s often my go to for a simple work makeup. The powder formula helps to keep me staying matte throughout the day too, ‘cos when I say I’ve got oily skin, I really do mean it! You can apply the powder lightly using a fluffy brush, or buff it in and build coverage with a stiffer brush, so the versatility of this product is very good. It’s also great over liquid foundations if you need a bit more coverage. I would highly recommend trying this out if you haven’t already!
Maybelline Super Stay
The second product from Maybelline and I’m sure you’ve heard all about this one! I think it deserves the hype. It’s really full coverage and gives that perfect skin kind of look, not my every day product, but If I’m going out all night this is definitely a contender!
Obviously foundations work differently on everyone, even if you have oily skin too. Definitely test your foundations out a number of times and don’t forget to try different combinations of primer and powders get the ultimate perfect combination! I’d love to know if any of these are you’re favourites too, or if there’s some others that you think I should try.
