As I’ve likely mentioned in other posts I generally wear some makeup most days, but if I’m going out I definitely like to put in a bit more effort. Now I’m no expert but I did a super girly pink toned makeup look the other weekend for a girly evening with two lovely friends who came to visit me.
I loved the look and it wore really well all night, so I thought I’d share it on the blog!
We had spent all day at the spa, lounging and steaming so my skin was feeling great. I prepped my skin with the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Priming Base which I’ve used for ages and I know will work at keeping my makeup smooth and in place for a night out.
I then went in with the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless in shade 115 Ivory. If you’ve read my Top 5 Foundations for Oily Skin post you’ll know I love this foundation. I like to buff this all over my face using a Real techniques foundation brush and then smooth over with a beauty blender. I then amped up the coverage with MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I have this in two shades, NW20 and NW15, the paler of which I use for brightening under my eyes and the darker shade I use for any blemishes.
Both the foundation and concealer are pretty matte but I always need to set my base, I used the classic that is the Rimmell Stay Matte powder, a classic for a reason.
Bronze and Glow
I’m pretty pale so I have to use a light hand but I added a bit of bronze with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, which as you can see I use a lot and have hit pan on this. I love a shimmery blush so went in with one of Youtube’s raved about products, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. This blush is beautiful and lives up to the hype, if you like a shimmery blush anyway.
OK, so I had a look in mind then kind of messed it up. Oh well, we all have those days, here’s what I did anyway. I used the Too Faced Clover Palette as it has a nice range of pink and purple tones. First I went in with Chihuahua as a base, followed by Paw Print all over the lid, deepening the crease slightly with Cuddle Buddy. I also put a tiny bit of this on the lower lash line. Then I fancied some glitter. I used a very small amount of the Stila Glitter and Go Liquid Eye Shadow in Rose Gold Retro. Realising I’d sort of taken away any pink I then went over the liquid with a mixture of Cuteness Overload and I Ruff You from the Clover palette.
At this point I was running out of time and quickly added a couple of coats of the waterproof L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. I have quite sparse browse but honestly I’ve been favouring more natural makeup recently, the ‘Instagram brow’ was never for me anyway. I just fill them in a little with my absolute favourite brow product, the Archery brow Tint and Pencil from Soap and Glory.
The Final Look
I finished the look with an Essence Matt Matt Matt lipstick in shade 02, a lovely mauve tone. I love this lipstick, it applies and lasts so well and is really affordable. I added a bit of the L’Oreal Infallible Extreme Resist lipgloss in 505 Never Let Me Go, focused in the centre of the lips. And we’re done!
I teamed my make-up look with an asos long-sleeved knot front bodysuit in blush pink and blue ‘Lift and Shape’ skinny jeans from Newlook, and some super old and well-loved Topshop ankle boots. What’s your go to makeup for a girly night out?
