Today I wanted to share with you some of my most used beauty essentials. These are often products that I have re purchased a number of times and feature in my daily/ weekly routines. So let’s get started!
Dr. Paw Paw Original Clear Balm
Lip balm is a must have for me, especially at this time of year it’s so easy for lips to become dry and chapped. I re-apply lip balm throughout the day as needed, but I make sure I always put it on at night before I go to bed and in the morning whilst I’m doing the rest of my makeup. I first tried a sample of the Dr. Paw Paw Original Clear Balm when I used to subscribe to Birchbox (a beauty subscription box if you’ve never heard of this). I finally decided to buy the full size version and I’m so glad I did, I forgot how amazing this stuff is. You get a good sized squeezy tube for £6.95 (I bought mine from the Birch Box website too) and it can be used on your skin and hair too to give a moisture boost anywhere, anytime!
Lush Ultrabland Facial Cleanser
I generally wear makeup most days (I feel like I’ve written that in every single damn post!) so I absolutely love using a cleansing balm at night to ensure I break down all the makeup and remove it thoroughly. I heard You Tuber and beauty Guru Stephanie Lange talk about this product and I really wanted to give it a go, and I’m now onto my third pot! I must admit for the amount you get it’s quite expensive, but a little bit goes a long way. This might be good if you have sensitive skin as it’s only got a few natural ingredients in it, like many of Lush’s products. I do love a number of other cleansing balms too but at the moment this is definitely my favourite!
Olay Regenerist Cleansing brush
Keeping on with the theme of cleansing, I always use a liquid facewash after the Ultrabland balm, just to ensure any trace of makeup is removed. I love using this brush to get deep into my pores to clean and exfoliate. I bought this for around £15 from amazon and it costs £7 for two brush heads when you need to replace them. I would highly recommend this as an affordable cleansing brush if you’re on the lookout for one.
Garnier Skin Active Tissue Mask
I kind of love and hate the weird cold wet feeling of sheet masks, but once it’s off I love how it makes my skin look and feel! I’ve been loving all the ones from Garnier but the Moisture bomb is definitely my favourite and I’ve purchased it a number of times now when I want to pamper and really hydrate my skin.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
I am a big fan of everyone’s favourite the Pixi Glow Tonic, and although it lasts a while I wanted to try a more affordable option, which this absolutely is at less than half the price! Many of the ingredients are the same within both toners, I prefer the smell of the Pixi toner but I’m willing to put up with that. I would highly recommend this, along with many other products from the Ordinary, if you’re on the hint for affordable and effective skincare.
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Youth Fresh Emulsion
Last year I went on a mission to find daily SPF’s that would work for me, not breaking me out and not leaving me feeling greasy. The Body Shop absolutely nailed my search with two amazing products! I have spoken about one of them in my Best of Summer post but the other is the Drops of Youth Youth Fresh Emulsion. No I don’t know what that means either. But it’s SPF 20 and a great daily moisturiser, my makeup sits beautifully on top of this too. In the UK I feel like SPF 20 is plenty with the exception of those rare hot summers.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
If you suffer from breakouts like me I would highly recommend this product. You apply a small amount at night and it works to dry any spots out, it can dramatically reduce the look of any big angry red spots overnight. I love to use this when I get hormonal breakouts.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
Finally I couldn’t end this list without a product I’ve been using for the longest time. Dry shampoo literally saves my life. OK maybe not…but as an oily scalped person this definitely saves my hair many times a week! I’ve tried other brands but none work as well as Batiste. You can always find it on offer too to stock up.
Are any of the products I’ve mentioned on your favourites list? Any that you want to try, or anything you think I absolutely need in my routine? Let me know in the comments, I would love to know!
