I previously tried a small selection of Charlotte Tilbury makeup products that I got for Christmas in 2016 and absolutely loved them (with the exception of the Full Fat Lashes Mascara). The products apply and wear so well and I’ve been keen to try more of the brand ever since. I’m a huge make up addict but the majority of products I buy are from Boots or Superdrug and Charlotte Tilbury is definitely out of that price range! I constantly browse makeup on Beauty Bay and Cult Beauty and came across the Instant Look in a Palette. I thought this would be a great way to try out a few different products and will be great for travelling too.
I did want to buy in store to see which palette I liked best but when I asked I was told these were actually an online exclusive. I decided on the Natural Beauty palette which I ordered on Cult Beauty for £49. So let’s start this review off with the packaging. I must admit, I was surprised by how small it actually is! Other than that it has the standard beautiful yet simplistic packaging as her other eye quads.
As you can see from the photos all the pans have been used a lot and I’ve worn the shades and travelled with the palette many times in order to give a proper review. The palette includes three eyeshadows across the top row which allow you to create a natural minimal look or build up to a smokey eye. The far left shade is the palest colour in the palette and a creamy shimmer shade. The middle is a neutral toned mid brown, which is also shimmery. The third a matte mid-dark brown. The two larger pans to either side include a bronzer and a champagne coloured highlighter. The middle has a dark shimmery blush and a matte peachy pink one. The darker shade doesn’t work as a blush for my pale complexion but I like to use this as eyeshadow instead so it’s not wasted. the bronzer and highlighter work great on my skin tone but I’m not sure how well these would work on more tanned or darker skin tones.
I travel for one or two nights fairly frequently for work so the small size, and the fact it includes everything I need to enhance my face in one palette makes it a great option to take away with you. I really love all of the colours and even though I picked the “natural” palette you can build up a lovely smokey eye so it works well for day and night make up looks.
The bronzer is fantastic and blends so nicely into the skin. It really makes me want to try other bronzing products like the Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette. I think for me if I could make one enhancement it would be to include a face powder, as this is the only thing that’s missing to finish off a full face of makeup (with the obvious exception of liquid products). I think I would prefer to have the highlight in a small square pan, replacing the dark blush, and have the larger pan as a mattifying face powder.
All in all I love this palette, as you can see by how well used it is. I think it’s worth the £49 and is also a great introduction to the brand if you haven’t tried any of Charlotte’s other products. All it has done is made me want to try more! Good news for my face. Bad news for my bank account..! I hope you enjoyed this review, let me know what Charlotte Tilbury products you recommend or want to try.
