Somehow we’re now at the end of August, I know everyone is saying it but honestly, where has this year gone!? We are now way more than halfway through the year and I’ve discovered some amazing beauty faves in the last few months I wanted to share with you all.
Elf Makeup Sponge
I bought this sponge for $4 from Target on my trip to America last year (will I ever shut up about this trip? No, probably not…) The sponge texture is way more open (and holey?) than other sponges like the original Beauty Blender or the Real Techniques sponge. I didn’t have high expectations but it’s so bloody good! I find it a lot softer than both the previously mentioned sponges and the more open texture doesn’t seem to absorb as much foundation. Sadly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this sponge in the UK!
The Norvina palette was my first ever foray into Anastasia Beverly Hills and this palette certainly doesn’t disappoint. Pinks and purples are definitely up my street and the quality (possibly) justifies the hefty price tag! I then bought the Riviera palette which was just so damn pretty I couldn’t resist! There are a lot of bright colours but you can definitely do some easy wearable looks as well. I can easily use either palette on the daily for simple looks suitable for the office as well as a full on sparkly smokey eye (A look I would still wear to the office to be honest).
See below for a look I did testing our the Riviera Palette, make sure to follow my Instagram for more makeup, lifestyle and Disney photos!
I know Physicians Formula has been around for absolutely ages now but for us over here in the UK we’ve been missing out! The product everyone knows and loves is the Butter Bronzer, again I picked this up on my Florida trip last year. When I first tried it I wasn’t too impressed and felt kind of ‘meh’ about it. BUT I’ve given it another chance and now it’s my daily bronzer I love it so much, I don’t know what went wrong the first time but I’m so glad I gave it another chance.
Then the brand became available in the UK on Feel Unique so I had to make a cheeky purchase after seeing a full-face makeup video from Youtuber Emma’s Rectangle (one of my favourites). I got myself a couple of products including a Butter Blush, Butter lipstick and the stunning eyeshadow palette, Tropical Days. I’m probably biased as I love eyeshadow the most but this palette is gorgeous and so blend-able, it would be fantastic for travel. So many beautiful neutrals with a couple of pops of colour. I also really love the blusher, it’s such a pretty pop of pink. The lipstick is super creamy and feels really moisturising on the lips, which is great, but because of this i find it wears off really quickly. Overall I love the brand and would definitely like to try a few more things, keep your eyes peeled for a future haul!
